LIL ED AND THE BLUES IMPERIAL
with special guest Bob Dellaposta

Sat., March 29, 2025
8:00 pm

Wow!  We are excited to welcome back Lil Ed and the Blues Imperial.  Always great music and always a good time!

In Chicago, a city overflowing with unrivaled blues talent, world-renowned Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials have been standing tall for over 30 years. The band’s big sound, fueled by Lil’ Ed’s gloriously rollicking slide work and deep blues string bending, along with his rough-edged, soulful vocals, is as real and hard-hitting as Chicago blues gets. The Chicago Sun-Times says, “Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials are the hottest purveyors of bottleneck boogie to come out of Chicago since Hound Dog Taylor.”

We agree.

POPA CHUBBY AND THE BEAST BAND

We are proud to partner with loyal customers and blues enthusasts Reed and Michelle Hughes, owners of Brookside Animal Hospital in Hamilton, to host Popa Chubby and the Beast Band

Popa Chubby, born Ted Horowitz, has been hard rocking the blues in his fierce and soulful way for more than 30 years. Throughout his career, he has been a force to be reckoned with on the guitar, and his tempestuous, soulful playing has never been more powerful. An imposing figure with a shaven head, tattooed arms, a goatee and a performance style he describes as “the Stooges meets Buddy Guy, Motörhead meets Muddy Waters, and Jimi Hendrix meets Robert Johnson,” Popa Chubby is an endearing character who is one of the genre’s most popular figures.

As a club dedicated to blues music it is our pleasure to offer this national and international blues act. The ticket sales will be sold through the club exclusively and will likely sell out quickly. Tickets should be available we hope by the Feb. 14th or so – check our Facebook page or call 765-253-1068.

The 21 is pleased to bring have the talented Circle City Bandit make his debut at the club Friday, April 25 . He is a singer/song writer who music ranges from  genre pop, indie folk and rock.

The Naptown Bred-South-Louisiana Fed Folk-Americana Troubadour, Teller of Tales and Giver of All That’s Forgotten, the Circle City Bandit explores the  depths of what it means to be human through the tradition of intuitive song.

A Indianapolis native, as a young boy he was introduced to the music of John Prine, Grateful Dead, Jim Croce and Tom T. Hall.  He recalls, “We’d gather in the kitchen and the guitars would come out. Everybody would sing along. It was a magical indoctrination to music. You couldn’t participate without feeling it.” He picked up his father’s guitar at age 10 and began playing. His love for all music would find him in a punk band, hip hop group, R&B group and currently as, The Circle City Bandit.

We are excited to have the Circle City Bandit play at The 21!  There will be a $5door cover for this event, call 765-253-1068 to reserve.

MAURICE JOHN VAUGHN BAND
with special guest FREDDIE DIXON

Sat. May 17, 2025
8:00 pm

Maurice John Vaughn is a true blues original. A triple threat on guitar, saxophone and vocals, Vaughn writes powerful, innovative and often humorous songs that spring directly from his vast musical experience.

Vaughn’s  soulful and passionate vocals are convincing because they are earned — Vaughn means what he sings. Coming out of the streets of Chicago, Vaughn was raised on Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, black Top 40 and James Brown. Like the greats who have come before him, he has incorporated his various influences into a blues and R&B style that is completely his own.
